The cutoff date for my room block is 5pm today (May 15). If you haven’t booked your room, do it today, as the rate may go up.
Early Bird Deadline is Monday May 14. I’ll take any registrations at the reduced rate that are post-marked on or before this date. U.S. dancers may send me checks in US funds. Go online and convert the Canadian dollars to US and write a cheque for that amount. Canadian Banks can easily cash these cheques and don’t charge any service charge.
I’ve asked three times for room increases for my event block. They are out of rooms with 2 queen beds. If you have 3 or 4 in a room, you should probably ask for the king suite with a pullout queen sofa bed. I think the rate is $169.
Ok it’s sort of a heavy-duty theme but I’m a member of a Rotary Club and the media seems to just love to ignore any good news stories. So I’m using this event to promote all the good things that are happening in the community.
Saturday night will be red dress night. For those who don’t want to dance in a dress, a red top or t-shirt is fine.
I know a number of people are putting groups together for my event to get the discount. Here’s a note from someone collecting forms who cc’ed me:
If you are buying the week-end pass you can get the Group Weekend Pass and it is $120.00 (registration must be given to me before April 24), please calculate your own total if you want to order step book or dinner.
This will be a fun weekend, hope everyone will come and support Robert for this event, we are lucky someone make the effort to organize an event locally.
If you have to work and cannot come for the whole weekend, get a day pass or come for the night dance, we can request our favorite and dance with the choreographer themselves.
Picture yourself doing ‘Play for Keeps’ ‘It’s murder’ with Neville, ‘Under your spell’ with Bracken Ellis, ‘Little Red Corvette’ with rob Glover and ‘Dangerous’ with Mr. Dangerous John Robinson himself that is priceless.
The hotel has opened up more hotel rooms for my event at $119 per night. Let me know if you have any more problems. Make sure they understand that the hotel is 801 Dixon Road and NOT the one located on the airport grounds.
Thanks for those sending in their registration. We plan to email everyone when we deposit their cheque so you know we got it OK. If you don’t hear from us after a few weeks you may want to email Donna, as email addresses are sometimes hard to read.

I got a new Blackberry Playbook for Christmas and found a free QR Code app. Then I found websites that generate them for free. This is the QR Code for Celebrate Dance. For those who are maybe unfamiliar, most smart phones and tablets will read these and automatically copy the website link and my contact info. to your address book.
There was some confusion on the hotel reservation desk yesterday. People were being told there were only rooms at an increased rate for Thurs. evening. That should be fixed now. You should be able to get the event rate of $119 per night not only for the event but for 3 days before and 3 days after the event. Let me know if you have any problems. Everything is in place for Celebrate Dance! on June 14-17, 2012. It’s a new location near the airport. I’ve reserved a room block at the hotel but I’d love for everyone who is 90% sure they will be there to reserve a room ASAP. Remember the reservation can always be cancelled but if the room block fills up I’ll request an increase and avoid a room sellout like 2011. I’m planning for three workshop rooms again but if there are enough people attending, I’ll open a fourth room.

People last year loved this event and especially the custom hardwood floors fabricated to let you keep dancing all weekend long. Same floors but some new faces in the instructors lineup.
